THE TWIN CITIES of Bloomington and Normal Illinois are home to two universities and State Farm Insurance. The neighboring towns also have their share of sites on the National Register of Historic Places, and many are represented in this Collection. But it’s also well-known as the city that Mr. Lincoln frequented, and scholars will tell you he spent more time here than his home town of Springfield. He slept here and practiced law on the square here. Here, his good friend, Jesse Fell, proposed the idea of running for President, and Lincoln laughed. But here the seed was planted… and the rest is history. If you visit, you’ll not only become acquainted with historic sites, you'll walk where he walked and feel his presence, his spirit and the history he left behind.
